Her goal was to get the politicians to take action on climate change. Swedish media covered Thunbergs protest and spread the news. In the following days, a plethora of students from around the world took part in her #FridaysforFuture protests, skipping class on Fridays to demonstrate against the effects of climate changes. Climate activists from around the world coordinated this Global Strike for Climate. The event was an enormous accomplishment. 1.6 million people from 125 countries participated.
