Arike Ogunbowale
Arike Ogunbowale (born on April 2, 1985) is an American professional basket ball player. She is part of the Dallas Wings and the Women's National Basketball Association. Arike Ogunbowale played college basketball playing for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before getting drafted by the Wings as the fifth-overall pick for the 2019 WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale is a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26) and Dare Ogunbowale(20) are two of her brothers. She was the youngest child of her family, and her parents took care of her the most. Gregory, Gregory's father, worked with the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale comes from a lively family. The mother of the child Yolanda and brother Dare each played softball at DePaul. Her aunt played volleyball for UAPB in the past, and Endia plays volleyball in Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was named on her institution's Honour Roll for three years consecutively. She also received recognition for her achievements in high school with various accolades. Arike completed her high school graduation at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School located in her home town. She participated in three games of the varsity league as she studied at the school. Ogunbowale, owing to her remarkable capabilities and skills, helped lead her school to stunning victories numerous times. She finished her high school record with 73 starts in her career and has a total of 1 477 and 739 rebounds. Ogunbowale has won gold at the 2013 U16 FIBA Americas Championships as well as the 2014 FIBA U17 world Championships, and the 2013 3x3 FIBA U18 Championships. The USA Youth Olympic Team was announced as to the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team on the 7th of July 2014. Ogunbowale is also part of the ACC All-Freshman Team, after her debut season at a college. Kobe Bryant congratulated her after hitting several big shots at the NCCA Tournament.
